GPSS-GLI Alumnus Prof. Warathida Chaiyapa Delivers Lecture on Bottom-Up Climate Policy Advocacy

GPSS-GLI alumnus Prof. Warathida Chaiyapa, Assistant Director and Head of Degree Program at Chiang Mai University's School of Public Policy, presented on bottom-up climate policy advocacy and self-critique in policy-making.The seminar was held at the the University of Tokyo, Environmental Studies Building, Kashiwa campus on April 22.

Prof. Chaiyapa emphasized a multidisciplinary approach to climate change, focusing on legitimacy in policy-making and the policy process cycle. She advocated for participatory policy design but highlighted challenges in Thailand's climate action.

Her lecture explored the roles of representative, process, and influence legitimacy in policy development and concluded with an invitation for collaboration on climate actions.
